Dr. Art's Guide to Planet Earth provides an exciting view of our world through easy-to-understand concepts, and works in concert with its own Web site to provide hands-on activities and animations.
About the Book
Written by a biochemist and educator with twenty years of experience in the field of science and environmental education, Dr. Art's Guide to Planet Earth is the first of its kind - a guide that explains the Earth's operating system in three concepts that non-scientists can easily grasp:
The cycles of matter (Earth is a closed system with respect to matter);
The flows of energy (Earth is an open system with respect to energy); and
The web of life (Earth is a networked system with respect to life).

Who Is Dr. Art?
Dr. Art Sussman has worked the last twenty years developing and implementing innovative methods to teach major scientific and environmental concepts in ways that are meaningful, effective, and fun. He created and performs a traveling science show entitled Dr. Art's Environmental Medicine Show.
