Transform your assembly room into a laboratory for exploring all the colors of the rainbow and even some beyond the rainbow! Watch how a "magic cloth" dramatically transforms as it is bathed in lights of different colors, illustrating the properties of reflection and absorption of colors. See how, with only three colors, we can create the many hues that our eyes can see. Observe the spectra of colors that come from various glowing gases; find out how these spectra help us understand what stars are made of, how we can tell their temperatures, and how astronomers use light to unlock many of the invisible secrets of the universe. How can invisible light actually reveal secrets? This program requires a completely darkened room. Teachers receive a class set of "color analyzers" for their students to put together to continue their investigation of color and light. Sessions are adapted to audience's grade level(s). For an additional $85, 25-minute sessions for grades K-1 may be added to programs at your school.

LHS programs are the types of programs advocated in the National Science Education Standards, the Curriculum Standards for School Mathematics, the Science Framework for California Public Schools, the Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools, and the Benchmarks for Science Literacy.
