A 90 minute, quality science education experience matched to the California State Science Standards.
A show in our state-of-the-art Ask Jeeves Planetarium, displaying over 9,000 stars, realistic simulations of astronomical events, and animation.
On-line resources describing the classes in depth and suggesting pre- and post-class visit activities.
Access to our permanent exhibits, including Our Place in the Universe, which takes you on a tour of the Universe. The Hologlobe offers a vista of our entire planet, in space and in time. The Planet Walk introduces you to the scales in our Solar System, from the size of the planets to the great distances between them. Holograms provide startlingly realistic views of Solar System objects. Next, put on a pair of 3-D glasses and step into our galaxy, casting your gaze across the unfathomable vastness of the Milky Way. Finally, walk through a kaleidoscope while being surround by galaxies poised at the edge of the visible universe, brought into view by the Hubble Space Telescope.
Mars Encounter. The exhibit features a four-foot tactile Mars globe, complete with craters and volcanoes; a Martian meteorite; a Martian Sci-fi theater; a Mars Mission Control where visitors can find out about current and past missions; a Mars quiz game; a virtual vacation to Mars; and a play area for the younger crowd.
