The K-12 Alliance (CSIN SPAN SS&C) is a statewide organization dedicated to improving student performance and achievement in mathematics and science in California. We are committed to working with all segments of the educational system and its supporting communities.
Tenents:
We support standards-based instruction and believe all students can reach high standards of learning.
We believe in standards-based professional development that is comprehensive and impacts school- and department-wide change.
We support the translation of statewide vision into local practice and promote regional professional development programs that include:
*standards-based content
*researched-based instructional strategies that improve student achievement in knowing and doing mathematics and science
*development of teacher leaders to increase site capacity
*the use of technology and integration of literacy strategies to enhance student learning and understanding
We support the assessment of program effectiveness and student achievement.
We believe that ongoing assessment using multiple measure is necessary to make informative program and curriculum decisions.
We recognize that the educational community includes a larger system in which all stakeholders are an integral part of the ongoing improvement of schools and student success.
We believe, as a part of the team process, that all stakeholders must be involved in advocating, supporting, offering resources and actively participating in leadership roles.
We believe success should be celebrated at all levels of the educational system.
