Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education (IISME)was founded in 1985 by a consortium of Silicon Valley companies. IISME seeks to transform teaching and learning through unique industry-based teacher professional development opportunities. IISME's main program, the Summer Fellowship Program, places over 100 K-16 science, math and technology teachers in 8-week paid Fellowships within high technology and biotechnology companies, universities and research labs.
