The exhibits at the Hiller Aviation Museum highlight the many historic advancements native to Northern California, and show how technologies here today will shape the future of air transportation. Field trips to the Museum provide an exciting way to teach students about the history, science and technology of the world of flight.
Teachers need not be aviation experts to make the class visit to the Museum an outstanding learning experience for their students. Field trip guides for teachers and "flight plans" for students provide interesting, challenging and engaging learning activities.
The Hiller Aviation Museum has received educational grants from Applied Materials, Mary Jane Brinton, Oracle Corporation, the Peninsula Community Foundation, and the Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Foundation to help fund K-12 school field trips to the Hiller Aviation Museum. These grants help schools pay most of the cost of field trips to the museum. The costs covered by the grants include reimbursement up to $300 for transportation and all admission fees.
